Who we are and what we are here for

ICD360S e.V. accompanies people through a daily life made of forms, appointments and questions of jurisdiction. We translate, we explain, we come along — and we stay with it until the matter is settled.

Self-representation is not an add-on

The majority of the board are people with disabilities. That is written into § 2 of the statutes and it is not a declaration of intent but a binding rule: decisions are taken on the basis of lived experience, not on someone else's behalf.

What the association exists for

The association pursues exclusively and directly charitable and benevolent purposes within the meaning of the German Fiscal Code (Abgabenordnung, §§ 51–68 AO). In detail:

• help for refugees
• international understanding, tolerance and reconciliation between peoples
• youth welfare
• education and vocational training, including support for students
• support for people in need
• support for people in economic hardship
• promotion of civic engagement

The exact references (§ 52 (2) nos. 4, 7, 10, 13 and 25 AO as well as § 53 nos. 1 and 2 AO) are given in § 2 of the statutes.

What we actually do

Authorities and applications

Accompaniment to appointments with interpreting, help with filling in forms, explanation of official decisions, information about deadlines for appeals. Working out which benefits you are entitled to at all — employment agency, Jobcenter, social services office, pension insurance, housing benefit, child supplement, education and participation.

Language

Language courses, translation of everyday documents, interpreting at appointments with authorities and doctors, support with telephone calls to public offices. Where an official stamp is required, we refer you to sworn translators and interpreters.

Everyday life

Accompaniment when shopping, at medical and therapy appointments, orientation in local public transport, help with the household and childcare, support with scheduling. And conversation — against loneliness, and because some things only fall into place once they are spoken.

Education and work

Further-education courses and workshops, careers advice, help with the recognition of foreign qualifications, application training, basic digital skills and support with online applications.

Money and making ends meet

Working through your financial situation together, budget planning, information about reduced-price offers, referral to food banks, clothing stores and furniture exchanges. In acute emergencies: food, clothing, household goods and bridging assistance.

Living together

Intercultural encounters and celebrations, sport, leisure and creative activities for every age group, accompaniment into local communities and clubs.

What we do not do

The association is a bridge, not a substitute for professionals. We inform, we prepare documents and we come along to appointments. Where a matter becomes legally, fiscally or medically complex, we refer you on to licensed practitioners — that is not caution, it is the only responsible way to offer this kind of help.

How we work

We start from the position that every person, whatever their economic situation, has a right to a dignified and self-determined life. So our concern is not only to secure the material basics, but also participation and personal wellbeing.

In every situation we look systematically at what options exist, and work out realistic steps together with the person concerned — short-term emergency help and long-term solutions at the same time.

The association and its board

The association acts selflessly and does not pursue its own commercial interests. Funds may only be used as laid down in the statutes; members receive no payments out of the association's funds (§ 3a of the statutes). All offices are honorary (§ 5).
